Caroline, Cecil, Dorchester, Kent, Queen Anne's, Somerset, Talbot, Wicomico and Worcester Counties

The Eastern Shore region includes the nine counties traditionally considered as part of Maryland's Eastern Shore, although at least two of them - Cecil County in the north and Queen Anne's County in the middle Shore - have in recent years received substantial growth spilling over from the western shore or from neighboring states. The other counties in the Eastern Shore region include Caroline, Dorchester, Kent, Somerset, Talbot, Wicomico and Worcester, almost all of them now experiencing strong development pressure.
